SHAKE OFF THE DUST!!!

Don't Give up!
By: Miro-Ender

This is for the girl who loses her love and fears that she will never be happy again.  This is for the boy who left that girl and feels like he lost a piece of himself.  This is for the Librarian that checks out books.  Don't give in!

This is for the tourists that don't learn because they're too busy sight-seeing.  This is for the mother that has been alone even with two kids in the house, this is for the husband that has passed away.  This is for the thinkers that don't stop to ponder about love, or the meaning of life.  This is for the people that feel alone in this world. Don't give in!

This is for the brother that fights for his brothers sake.  This is for the son that takes his fathers silly putty when it's in the cupboard.  This is for the families you have.  This is for the friends you see everyday. Don't give in!

This is for the patient who needs the support from family, this is for her mother, and family.  This is for the person with AIDS down the street.  This is for the kids that have nothing left but the clothes on their backs and that need a friend.  This is for the neighbors that you won't even go out and greet because you're too scared to even admit that you're afraid.  Don't give up!

Don't give up.  When you give in you become nothing more than a leaf in the breeze, a stone in the river, a man in the wild.  When you give up you've lost the only thing that sets you apart from everything else, your will!  If you give up your will, what's the point in living since you have nothing left for yourself.  This is the way to live.  Keep fighting and Don't give up!

This is my challenge to you, people of the world.  Why do you think that you need to have will?  I challenge you to find your will and make it a fortress.  Let the memories, both good and bad, be a celebration.  Those trials made you who you are today.  Now go out and build it up so you have no need to complain.  I say these things because they are true.  Now ask yourself,  What are you going to do?

Gandhi autobiography

Will power... When will we own ourselves completely?  Do we only act on instinct?  Do we have no power over the world around us?  I say No!  We can control the world, and we can break free of Instinct!  We are the beings that can learn and adapt to any situation that we are in!

I keep forgetting that most people don't realize that we are the beings meant to take care of this world.  We keep advancing technologically, but are we progressing nature or ourselves?  We need to take this responsibility.  We need to act now.  If we don't act, we will become weak and be no better than the animals we seek to tame and control.  Do we give into the carnal mind, or do we get better.

Tonight is not the last time I'll see the light.  Tonight is when I change. Tonight is when I make my stand against myself and pull out ahead.  That's what we need to do.  We need to fight ourselves so that we can master the carnal mind that we naturally have.  We have the power, lets use it.

Keep fighting, or die trying.  We can, and must do that.  That's what this life is all about.

Peace to all this holiday season.

Napoleon Dynamite

Over the weekend I was asked to write a film analysis using the hero's journey method.  In the movie Napoleon Dynamite, the call to adventure for Napoleon is constantly changing over the course of the movie.  The main journey I want to focus on is at the ending of the movie.

The hero receives the call when his friend, Pedro, wants to become the president of the student body. There is no real refusal to the call but crossing the threshold is when they start to put up the posters and start to come out of their comfort zone.  The mentor could be the principal because he talks to Pedro and tells him what he can and cannot do.  Lafawnda was a mentor to Napoleon because she gave him some music to dance to and he learned to dance to it because of the way she treated him.

Uncle Rico is most definitely the shadow because he keeps coming into Napoleons life and saying that Napoleon can't do anything.  The villain at this point of the story is Summer because she is running against Pedro and trying to win.  One of the tests and trials is the beating of the pinata.  Pedro then learns that you can't make, and destroy a pinata of the person you are running against.

Another test at this point of the story is when Napoleon goes on stage and helps Pedro with his campaign.  Napoleon can be both a hero and a mentor because he was willing to go out and show the world what he's made of.  When Napoleon wins the election for Pedro that is when he is "resurrected" and starts on the road back(quite literally).  The enlightened state is when Pedro is at the picnic with his family and Napoleon plays tether-ball with Deb and they are all enlightened and prepared for the year to come.

Napoleon Dynamite was one of the funniest movies I've seen, but it is full of the hero's journey and that's what makes it so great to watch.

The way of the Drake

Drake was an average everyday single man.  He woke up every morning and tended to his natural routines which include brushing his teeth, eating breakfast, and reading the paper.  Throughout the day he only worked, went home and then eventually went to bed after watching some late night infomercials.  Today seemed like any other day until he found an add on his computer advertising a program for those who want to learn kung-fu.

Will he join the dojo?
Will he meet a woman?
Will he become a master?
Dose this change his outlook on his life?
Is someone going to challenge him for the girl?

My story...

Here's a story about when I was working to get my Eagle scout award.  When I was at home one day I was working on my Eagle scout project when I decided to get a drink of water.  I had been working for a while that day and I felt I could take a break.  When I went to get a drink I heard the television was on because of the action sounds that were coming from the room next door.  When I went into the room I encountered my mother.
"Where do you think your going?" she asked giving me the "look".  "I was just going to watch some t.v.  You know I've been working for a while." I say trying to smooth talk my way into idleness.  "You've got to finish your project outline before you can do anything else."
"But mom, can't I stop and do this later?  I need to rest or else I'm going to explode."
"How about you work for another hour then you can watch t.v."
"Fine" I say rather reluctantly.
I worked for an hour and then I watched t.v.  The cool thing about this is that I  got my paperwork done in that hour and felt better about myself.  I'm glad I didn't procrastinate or else I would have been in a pickle.

Found poem

The Brownsville and Texas have been recognized as champions.

These patients/clients in the office down the hall,

Collaborating, fortunately, in MLP.

MLPs have tremendous potential, but broad well-being.

The MLP programs in 38 states,

Research, and policy support MLP.

Frustrated, another child not responding,

Advocacy for the family, part of the treatment.

The model emerged in hospitals,

Professional talents and the local district affect legal assistance.

Low-income, in recent years, cannot afford care,

These legal services can assure the public families activities.

Dyslexic vast in the deep south border the Mexican mile,

Vulnerable citizens desperately need safe homes.

Address benefits, or many be part of chronically-ill populations.
Health care

Remeberance...(What was I talking about?)

Remembrance is a funny thing.  For the most part, people think that it's just finding the thing you forgot in your mind.  Remembrance is the way we interact with everyone around us.  We have to remember how to talk, breath, move, and essentially everything, even on the subconscious level.  I see that I... What was I talking about?  Well lets move on to more pressing matters.  This blog needs more people posting.  How can I improve this blog so that people will want to look at it?  I'm open to suggestions here.  I also want to have this blog be fun instead of only a place for work.  I've even put a game or two on this.  Is that not cool?  Oh...

So changing subject again I'm leaving for vacation for ten days.  If you need to talk just do so and I'll get back to you as quickly as I can.

One Word

Teendom.
The one thing that no man or woman has not been through.  This can be the best of times, or it can be the worst of times.  The problem with it is that everyone who has gone through it has tried to put into the minds of those who are currently going through it, what they believe everyone should think about at that age and it pulls people, families, and friends apart because of the different ways propaganda is used to influence young minds such as teenagers.  Why teens?  Why children?

The answer is simple, you control the future by controlling the youth that live now.  Why?  They are impressionable and able to be persuaded more easily.  Why not read a book?  Television has said that reading is not the best way to learn when in truth it is the best way to learn anything (though not conveyed through saying it directly).  The best thing we can encourage young people to do is read because it will open doors and worlds that they couldn't believe were possible to open.  Books lead to realms and worlds that people can enjoy and eventually, the most avid readers, become writers and create their own world to live in.

If you chose one word and you wanted to write about it, what would the word be and what would you write about that word?  School countdown: 22 days left till school is done with the first term! :0

Direct Orders

I order you to Rock out like a baby screams for food, like a mother thinks of children.  Rock out like your Skydiving and your first chute failed and the second one worked.  Rock out like your falling and you just don't care. Rock out like you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Rock out like it's Christmas and you are just opening up presents and know you got what you wanted.  Rock out like you're the king of the world and your queen is standing beside you.  Rock out like you have the best sports car and that you made it yourself.  Rock out like The Revenge of H. Miner writes about everything.  Rock out like you just won the lottery and that you used that money to bring world peace.  Rock out like you just don't care! Rock out like the singer who died because his music just got him the most famous record of all-time.  Rock out like Michale Jackson sang.  Rock out like you won the biggest baseball game in history.  Rock out like school starting, or school ending, or graduation day coming and passing with you on it's wings.

Rock out like you...

This is just somethings that I feel you should do and would order you to do if I could.  Today is Thursday, Sep. 29 and tonight is the big Bingham vs. Lone Peak game; national vs. state.  Who do you think will win?
It can go either way.  Don't count the state team out yet because it's not the status but the players.  In other news Lone Peaks Writing club is about to take off and start coming up with ideas that no one has ever thought of before.  Exciting!  School is almost a quarter of the way through the year with only 19 days left of term!!! (WOW)

What's important in life?

I've been discussing with some friends of mine about what we think is important in life.  We all know that we're going to die at some point in the future, but what do you do with life if you know you're going to die?  I believe that you should always be you, don't do things that you know aren't part of your character.  What I mean is that you should always do the things close to you (your heart) that you feel need special attention.  For example if I knew I was going to die I would focus on my family and what I could do with them.  Without families we really have nothing in this life, nowhere to turn for comfort, nowhere to learn compassion for other people.  If I had the choice between going to an amusement park and being with my family I would chose my family because without them I would be nothing.

I pose the question of what do you believe?  If you had only 24 hours left in your life what would you do differently or what would you do to make it feel like you're saying good-bye for a short while ( make it easy to die)?

Broken Dreams...

I walk alone. Alone.  It's blazing hot.  There's nowhere left to run to.  All is desolate. Nothing left.  Alone.  Alone.  I see dust of things past strewn in my way.  No more time to do those things.  Alone. I walk Alone.

I see my papers coming down from the sky.  I run around them in my mind.  I see the books I once wrote that now they seem to be a joke.  I walk alone.  I see many friends who don't see me walk by.  I  see them turning without a cry.  I walk alone.  On my Boulevard.  I see the kids I had.  They didn't learn a thing from me. They try to follow my footsteps.  I walk alone on this Boulevard of broken dreams.

I see the lights come on but I'm still in the dark.  I see the darkness all around my mind.  I walk alone.  I walk alone....

I Wrote this because it's a good subject to talk about when you talk about life.  I pose a question to anyone that reads this.  What is your Boulevard of Broken Dreams?  Could you share it?
End of line...

What I'm thinking about...

This is for fun because in my creative writing class we watched a video on someone doing  a poem about what they were thinking about.  So here's where I start:
I had a dream about you because you're all I think about.
I'm thinking about you like Spock thinks about logic.  I'm thinking about you like Archer thinks about Porthos who thinks about cheddar.  Like cheese thinks about time and people think about limes.

I'm thinking about you like Harry Potter thinks about the Elder wand; like Voldemort thinks about Horcruxes.  I'm thinking about you like pianos think about music, like Drug Lords think about money, like druggies think about getting "sunny".  Like Mr. Nelson and honey, like snakes think about eating bunnies.

I'm thinking about you like pods think about peas, and hippies think about trees, and queens think about kings.  I'm thinking about you now like keys think about locks and boats think about docks, and crabs think about rocks.  I'm thinking about you like yellow thinks about lemons, and saints think about heaven and Barbie thinks about Ken.

I'm thinking about you like a lawn mower thinks about grass, and a builder thinks about brass, and churches think about mass.  I can't get over you because you're in my mind.  You are my one, my only, true Valentine.

I think about you like a stranger thinks of money.
I love you true my one, and only, mother who is my Valentine.

I know that this sounds a little corny but at least it's heartfelt.  Without my mom I wouldn't be the person I am.  If anyone wants to talk about ( not name) things that they think about their mother then go ahead and do so.  I hope that you will be willing to bring up your mothers more freely because, lets be honest, without our mothers we wouldn't be the people we are today.  Please share your comments...

What to do? Students vs. Parents

You know it's funny that school only started two weeks ago for students at Lone Peak High School, and most students are already in their bleak mode where they just want to get out A.S.A.P.  That's funny because people wonder why students do poorly at the beginning of the term and the main reason is because students are already bored with school.  When it comes to parents though, they are bored with the student because they've spent the summer keeping them busy and now they feel they deserve the student doing things on their own.

Most students need to look at it from that perspective because their parents aren't always going to be with them and it frustrates the parents because they know you can do better.  Do most students do poorly in school (aside from being bored) because they want to try and be independent and try to still have their parents support them?  You decide...

Love Is...

Before we get to the other things we want to talk about, I would just like to write ten things about what I think love is:
Love is...
1.the dark because you never know what you might find.
2.like a flower, because you can smell it and it will be one of the sweetest things or one of the worst smells you encounter.
3.a mystery.
4.paper, because unless you put something on it, it will always be blank and empty.
5.Oxygen, because without it you can't survive, but with it you will be happy forever.
6.A Bear, because you either get mauled or you stay away from it.
7.A Boulder, because it is strong and once it starts going down it keeps rolling and won't stop till you hit the bottom.
8.A Bird.
9.A Vampire, because it will suck you dry and leave you an empty husk.
10.A Fire.
Now that that's cleared up, we can look at the polls and decide what we will talk about for the next week.  The Poll closes on September 7th so get your friends and lets see what they want to talk about.

Idea for topic

I want to hear from people about their experiences with the new school year starting or that what people think will happen during the end of the year.

Personally I have had a great first week of school and also plan to have a good year at school ( mainly because I'm a senior ).  The classes have been fun so far  because of the teachers at Lone Peak High School.  They have had fun ways to introduce the classes to the particular subjects that we will be learning this year.  Also the atmosphere at the school is great because most people are geared up and ready to learn this year.  This year is the largest group of students in Lone Peak history!

Now it's your turn to talk about it.  Do so by commenting on this post.
